Coronavirus: COVID 19

Coronavirus Update from The Key

Here at The Key, we have been following NCVO's advice and guidance for charities on Coronavirus.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will keep you updated on any measures we decide to introduce. In the meantime, please take care of yourself and adhere to the NHS and Public Health England Covid-19 guidance.

What is Coronavirus (Covid -19)?

A coronavirus is a type of virus. As a group, coronaviruses are common across the world. This strain, covid-19, is a new strain of coronavirus first identified in January 2020.

Symptoms include a cough, high temperature and shortness of breath that develop over a 14 day period following exposure to the virus.

If you are worried about symptoms, please call NHS 111 or go to the NHS 111 coronavirus advice website. Do not go directly to your GP or any other healthcare environment.

What is the best way to prevent spread of covid-19?

  • Wash your hands often with soap (or soap substitutes) and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser. This is particularly important after taking public transport.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin. You can download a ’Catch it, Bin it, Kill it’ poster for your workplace from the NHS.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in the home and work environment.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Should you cancel Key related events and projects?

We are advising you to follow your organisation's own covid-19 guidelines before making an informed decision on whether to cancel or postpone any Key related projects, activities, and events.

You can rest assured that should you need to postpone your activity, then you have The Key's full support in doing so and this will not impact your group's progression through The Key Framework.

If your panels and projects do take place, then we advise you to follow the spread prevention guidelines and ensure you have hand wash and santisier available.

We hope you all take care and will keep you updated should on any additional precautionary measures we introduce here at The Key.
