This Volunteer Day, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible people who help make our mission at The Key possible – our Volunteer Panel Members.

Today we're spotlighting one of our Volunteer Panel Members, Jeanette. After spending 12 years living in Sydney, Australia, Jeanette returned home in 2024 with a desire to give back. With extensive experience across the education sector and a passion for supporting young people facing disadvantages, she wanted to volunteer somewhere her skills could make a meaningful difference.

“It’s really hard to say, each panel is unique. Seeing the young people working together and supporting each other – and recognising themselves, how they have developed skills is so special.”

“The Key gives young people the opportunity to dream and make that dream a reality.”

“I think it has to be my first one, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The pitch was to make a movie. The young people writing the script, doing costumes, acting, filming, editing, showing – everything! The theme was on bullying. You could see the enthusiasm and commitment came from the heart.”

“I learn something new on every panel I attend. I am delighted to be able to contribute something to the process and I champion The Key wherever I go!”

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR VOLUNTEERS!

Volunteers are at the heart of The Key.

They challenge, support and empower young people to turn their ideas into action – and they make every success story possible.

If you’re passionate about making a difference, love hearing young people’s ideas, or want to use your professional skills for positive change, there’s a place for you at The Key.
